Human enrichment · learning profile

Tell us what you know. Uncertainty is fine.

Preferences, not a test. You can be an expert in one language and new to another.

When your robot steps in

Automatic icons per response. Zero keeps automatic suggestions quiet. Explicit lesson requests always remain available.

On request always has an automatic budget of zero.

Keep automatic icons off in

Claude Code 0.6.1 or later reads these settings from an imported or explicitly synced preferences file. Saving here does not update an offline installation. OpenClaw and browser-extension choices are saved for future compatible integrations; their current installed versions are not connected to these controls. Codex supports explicit lesson requests, without automatic icons.

Tone and banter change the greeting. Professional greetings are direct, with no banter. The lesson facts stay the same.

Speech needs a matching reviewed recording and starts only when you click play.

Use your preferences while coding

Using Claude Code? Install the native HWTL plugin, then select your downloaded preferences file in its settings. This plugin runs locally; automatic account pairing is separate from installation.

Not ready to install? Read the beginner lessons as a guest. Downloading a file does not install or connect HWTL.

The current local pilot can import this download and suggest lessons from a short explanation you provide. It works without an account or a supported coding tool. Your preferences and the explanation stay on your device; opening a lesson uses the website.

Local setup for repository testers

This pilot requires a repository checkout and Node 20.20.2 or later. A public one-command installer is still being prepared. From the repository folder, install the locked CLI dependencies:

Computer terminal · shell promptInstall local pilot dependencies
Enter this at a shell prompt, outside an active coding-assistant conversation.
npm ci --prefix packages/activation-cli

Replace PROFILE_FILE with the path of the file you downloaded:

Computer terminal · shell promptImport a downloaded profile
Enter this at a shell prompt, outside an active coding-assistant conversation.
node packages/activation-cli/src/cli.js profile import --file PROFILE_FILE

Then try a short explanation. This example sends its text only to the local command:

Computer terminal · shell promptAnalyze a short explanation locally
Enter this at a shell prompt, outside an active coding-assistant conversation.
printf %s 'I want to understand the terminal.' | node packages/activation-cli/src/cli.js analyze --stdin

The next analysis uses the imported preferences. You can also enter or change them with profile setup, inspect them with profile show, and export them again with profile export --format profile. Only share a short explanation you want help with; your terminal or coding tool may retain what you enter.

Existing local core installations

If you already use an adapter connected to the local HTTP core, restart that core with your downloaded file:

Computer terminal · shell promptStart an existing local core
Enter this at a shell prompt, outside an active coding-assistant conversation.
hwtl-core --learner-profile ./hwtl-preferences.json

This download is one preference bundle version 2, containing learner profile version 2, robot choices and attention. Update an older installation before importing the complete file. Old profile files can be imported here after an explicit choice. Saving in this browser does not update an offline coding installation or your account.
